Our Holiday Cards

December 15, 2016 Kirsten Nelson

Growing up, sending out holiday cards was an annual tradition in my family. As a teenager, I spent hours addressing and embellishing our family holiday cards. When Dylan came into our lives, I knew that I wanted to start the tradition of sending out a holiday card. It is always fun to share a glimpse into our lives with friends, family and colleagues that we don't get to see regularly.

This year, we took Dylan and Quinn (our Bernese Mountain Dog) out to a dog-friendly Christmas tree farm for our annual family photos. While it was hard to snap a photogenic photo of both the baby and the dog, we ended up with a few great photos...

...and a bunch of hilarious outtakes.

We always turn to Minted as they have simple, modern designs and take a lot of the legwork out of creating holiday cards. I was able to design a card and receive the printed version on my doorstep just a few days later!

Do you send holiday cards to your friends and family? If so, do you include a family update with the card? Would love to hear about your holiday card traditions!

The second trimester was definitely the honeymoon phase of my pregnancy -- I had tons of energy, minimal swelling, and felt all of those baby kicks. Here are some of the essentials that helped me thrive in the second trimester.
The first trimester can be a really intimidating time depending on how your body is handling being pregnant. Here are some of my first trimester favorites from when I was pregnant with Dylan.
Dylan's great-grammy Doris is turning 90 this month. I dressed Dylan up as an old lady and took a bunch of photos, hoping that one would be good enough to make a card out of.
